We are building the most innovative grocery store with a focus on doing good.
Bootstrapped to $14 million revenue, 60+ staff, and operations across 3 states with only a team of 4 in the office. This can only be achieved through highly effective systems and people.
Bootstrapped means we’ve gotten here without any funding, forcing us to do more with less, which is what innovation is all about.
We’re now looking for a Content Specialist & Ad Buyer to work under our Marketing Director Katy and help lead Funky’s next growth chapter. This is your chance to help build Australia’s next big success story.
What we’re looking for:
👉 Someone who has great experience in making content and not afraid to get behind the camera
👉 Great video editing skills
👉 Ad buying experience
⚡️ Proactive and resourceful, able to take direction and then run with it, without needing hand holding at every step
💡 Solution oriented, happy to take ownership of tasks, suggest improvements, and keep things moving in a fast paced environment
🙌 Hands on attitude, comfortable switching between creative work (filming/editing) and execution (ads, scheduling, reporting), and helping out on broader startup tasks when needed because in a fast moving business, no two days look the same
Also:
Proven experience in fast paced, high output businesses
Sharp up and comer ready for the next challenge
Someone who understands you have to do something yourself once to manage it properly
Strong communicator with natural sales instinct
Tech capable
Local, office based only (no remote work)
Quick learner who pushes through challenges by combining smart thinking, hard work, and persistence
Willing to go above and beyond to get the job done

What you'll actually do:
Work closely with Katy to produce standout content across all channels
Work closely with Katy to manage ad channels
Levelling up our content with better video editing
Set up and run shoots, from farm visits to warehouse action to customer stories, including occasional interstate travel
Build and execute influencer and affiliate strategies to increase sales
Jump into broader startup tasks when needed, because that’s life in a fast moving startup

What to expect:
No remote work
High autonomy
Working directly with a very experienced Marketing Director (Katy)
Working alongside the CEO (Noah) and occasionally the founder (Kamran)
Helping shape one of Australia’s fastest-growing startups
Mostly in-office (Woolloongabba), occasional warehouse visits (Rocklea)
Occasional visits to NSW & VIC
$90k–$120k salary
Equity available for the right person, discussion start after 6 months
