About the business

Alivio Tourist Park Canberra is an award-winning property located in O’Connor – just five minutes from the city. We have two Food and Beverage Operations; The Verandah, our casual pub/bistro style restaurant that can seat 200 patrons and open 7 days a week for breakfast and dinner. We also offer the Group Dining Hall that can cater for up to 120 patrons (often doing 3 sittings per day) and caters to school group breakfasts and dinners that is about to be redeveloped.

About the role

The role currently overseas all kitchen operations in The Verandah and the Group Dining Hall, leading a team of qualified chefs along with pizza cooks. This is a hands-on role in high-volume kitchens. The working space is new and professional, the culture is positive, and the atmosphere is pumping during service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take their career to a new level. COGS, Labour and driving new revenue are key with the support of management to make things happen and achieve new heights. You will also work closely with The Verandah Venue Manager and property General Manager to continually develop the food and beverage offerings to our guests and locals.

About you

Industry recognised chef certification

Proven capacity for innovative food service production, menu planning and recipe development

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Confident menu costs, writing SOPs, managing wage costs, recruitment, and auditing

Significant focus on quality control and product integrity

Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, forecast and expenses

Ability to work weekends and split shifts
