Our client, a leader in promoting quality teaching and leadership in the education sector, is seeking a Finance Officer to provide support in maintaining the general ledger system, assisting with the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, assisting with the preparation of annual project budgets/forecasts across the business, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, reviewing fortnightly payroll calculations, and hoc procurement support to the Senior Procurement Officer.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Assist with the day-to-day operational finance processes including reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts and month end close processes.
- Support the Senior Finance Officer with Finance process related queries and advice.
- Assist with the Accounts inbox ensuring that invoices are sent to the correct person for actioning.
- Support the Senior Finance Officer with external auditor queries for the financial year and end external audit processes.
- Assist Senior Finance officer with Accounts payable and receivable.
- Overseeing the Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
- Support the Senior Finance Officer with oversight and management of payroll processing.
- Assist the Senior Finance Officer in preparation of the annual Budget and quarterly forecasting in collaboration with business units.
- Support management accounting processes related to project quarterly forecasting, including variance reporting against actual and forecast.
- Assist with preparing the annual Portfolio Budget Statement to ensure that the monthly actual financial statements are entered correctly.
We are seeking an experienced finance support generalist with experience in month end processing, accounts receivable and accounts payable and ideally basic payroll processing, as well as the ability to undertake month end and year end close functions with minimal supervision. Experience with MYOB preferred and strong Excel skills are essential.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to prioritise tasks to meet competing (and sometimes changing or very tight) deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. As well as have the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and work collaboratively with other internal departments. Tertiary qualifications are essential and CPA/CA qualified or currently undertaking program to achieve qualification is desirable.
