We have an opportunity for a Safety and Compliance Co-Ordinator to join Hawk Logistics in Sydney.
Immediate start available.
Monday to Friday 09:00-05:00pm.
Supportive team culture.

Reporting to the National Safety & Compliance Manager.
Job Summary:
The Transport Safety and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all transportation activities comply with safety regulations and standards. This role involves overseeing safety protocols, coordinating training sessions, managing regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety within the transport operations. The coordinator ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining efficient and safe transport operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure that all transportation activities comply with industry regulations and legal requirements (NHVAS, WHS, HACCP, CoR etc..).
Monitor and implement changes in local, state, and federal transport regulations.
Manage documentation related to compliance, coordinate drivers onboarding, and incident management.
Safety Management:
Customer SCARS management Nationally, assistance will be provided as needed
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential safety hazards.
Investigate accidents or incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate regular safety inspections of vehicles, and work sites.
Ensure all work diary pages are gathered and processed according to system in place
Conduct or arrange quarterly random D&A testing
Onboarding new drivers according to current procedure in place and conducting or arranging pre-employment D&A testing
Training and Development:
Organize and deliver safety training for drivers and management
Ensure that all drivers and employees are up to date on certifications, and inductions
Maintain records of training sessions and certification renewals.
Counselling and retraining of drivers coordinating with driver trainer
Training and implementation of upcoming new technology in the business
Incident Management:
Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis of accidents, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
Collaborate with fleet department and regulatory authorities.
Conduct or arrange D&A testing post-incident
Develop and implement preventative measures to avoid future incidents.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management.
Maintain an organized database of safety reports, accident reports, training records, and compliance documents.
Monitor and track safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare and coordinate with Senior Management various external and internal audits
Coordinate and liaise with VIC & Offshore team as needed
Experience:
Minimum 2.5 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, or a related role.
Knowledge of transport regulations.
Experience conducting safety inspections and incident investigations.
Skills:
Strong understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and liaise with regulatory bodies.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to assess risks and implement corrective measures effectively.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and safety/compliance software.
Certifications (Preferred):
TLIF0006
First AID, CPR, and other related certifications
Fire warden
HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
