Our Venues:
Situated in Sydney's CBD, inside a newly built state-of-the-art corporate building, we provide catering services across cafes, conference rooms and event spaces for corporate meetings, dinners, conferences, cocktail parties, awards and gala occasions. All areas are activated during business hours with high volumes, with the event space ILUMINA extended to operate in the evenings and weekends. Our additional venue is situated on Sydney Harbour's stunning waterfront, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (The MCA) includes a cafe and restaurant, as well as 3 busy event spaces with contemporary and innovative menus. @MCA_venues
To support the high volume of both venues we maintain a strong production kitchen in Marrickville and another production kitchen within our Sydney CBD corporate building space. Here we produce different menus and cuisines, using the freshest ingredients and technical skills that help develop and grow our team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for Experienced Chefs/Cooks to support our kitchens in the Sydney CBD. All venues have regular shifts available during the week as well as weekend work available. Flexible rosters with day or night shifts available.
Main Duties:
- Prepare and cook high-quality menus according to established recipes and standards.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Assist with the function setup and cleanup of kitchen areas and equipment.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Minimum 3yrs experience in a kitchen as a chef/cook. (Corporate boardroom experience desired.)
- Full availability to work day or night including some weekends as part of a rotating roster.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. (Food safety supervisor certificate preferred but not essential.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effectively work in various teams and cuisines.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Full working rights and availability.
