PURCHASING OFFICER

What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting and rare entry-level opportunity to establish a long-term career locally! Oakey Beef Exports is one of Australia’s largest and most advanced processing plants, offering diverse learning experiences, long-term career opportunities and large-scale resources!

Working closely with our production teams and reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, your role will be to:

Receive, gain approvals and purchase goods requested by employees and managers;

Place orders with suppliers within deadlines to ensure items are kept in stock;

Monitor stock levels and order status, responding proactively to low stock and delays;

Provide prompt responses to suppliers regarding weekly scheduled deliveries;

Conduct weekly stock counts for production items and record stock movements; and

Collaborate with management and suppliers to forecast and order in alignment with lead times.

This position is based within our Main Office working Monday – Friday in Oakey, QLD.

Possess a strong attention to details and numbers; and

Be motivated to learn – ask questions and speak up if you don’t know!

While no experience is required, exposure to inventory control, ordering, GST and/or Microsoft Excel will be highly beneficial!
