Full-time Fixed-term position

About the role:

As a Foster Care Intake Officer, you’ll play a vital role in finding prompt and appropriate placements for children referred by Child Safety Services. You’ll work closely with approved carers, maintain the Placement Register, and support a small caseload of foster carers — all while ensuring licensing standards are met.

This role includes a rostered on-call component, offering variety and challenge for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Support carers to meet therapeutic needs - delivering individualised support to carers based on assessment
  • Maintain placement registers - achieving 100% compliance with licensing and documentation standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders - building strong partnerships with Child Safety and community agencies
  • Enrich lives - contributing to events and activities that strength connections for children and carers

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate IV level or higher in Community Services (Child Protection) or Mental Health with significant experience in a similar field
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Other Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
