Dairy Farm Manager

supportive team? We have an incredible opportunity on a newly developed dairy in Tasmania.

We're actively seeking dedicated individuals for our Dairy Farm Manager position at Compass Derwent River Operations c/o Norley Dairy. Join us, where your skills can flourish in an environment recognised for safety excellence and innovation.

Ouse, Tasmania

Salary:

We offer a competitive Salary commensurate to experience.

AUD $90,000 to AUD $100,000 annually

PLUS superannuation and ability to earn Profit Share Incentive.

About the Farm:

· Size: 311 ha

· 750 Cows (at development completion)

· 60-bail rotary milking shed

· Machinery Operation

· Predominantly pastures

· Mixture of Centre pivot and Hard Hose irrigation

· Calf Shed onsite

· Team of 3-5 farm hands

About you:

This person strives to deliver results to the highest standard. The successful candidate will be a valuable team member and mentor, who engages all the team members to utilize their skills and abilities to the maximum capacity, whilst always demonstrating strong work ethics.

In this role, you will be responsible for implanting and managing in collaboration with the Agribusiness Specialist, short and long-term business plans, and goals.

You will be able to achieve the best production possible within the constraints of the seasonal conditions and to achieve a system that is profitable and sustainable.

The role is a pivotal role in building and driving farm culture and team performance through demonstrated communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

· Active role in milking operations

· Proven history at planning, organising and management farm operations along with delivering extraordinary results.

· Provide care for livestock, including feeding and health monitoring

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of dairy

· Participate in pasture management

· Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

· Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

Qualifications and Skills:

· 3+ years of experience in a hands-on leadership role in a Dairy Farm environment

· Sound understanding of grazing and pasture management

· Ability to work closely with management to develop strategies and long-term plans

· Ability to work both with and without supervision in a small team

· Proficient skills in MS Office programs and proven experience utilising and implanting digital farm management software

· Excellent time management skills

· Excellent communication and report writing skills

· Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

· Reliable and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends
