About the role
Fundraising
Assist the Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager to plan, implement, and evaluate fundraising campaigns.
Maintain donor database/CRM, including data entry of donations and ensure accurate and timely donor communications and acknowledgments.
Assist the Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager in the coordination and the delivery of supporter engagement events and other in-person touch points.
Identify, engage, support and liaise with local community fundraising supporters in person, phone and/or by email.
Nurture existing supporter relationships, ensuring regular and high-standard communications to achieve long-term donor engagement.
Assist in the development and delivery of the donation platforms and Fundraising communications content including digital marketing.
Assist with general administrative tasks.
Grants
Identify, write and coordinate grant submissions aligned with our purpose.
Track milestone dates and prepare updates and acquittals in a timely manner.
Develop strong, positive, and professional relationships with funders.
Provide research to support and enhance applications.
Coordinate the fulfilment of funders’ benefits.
Maintain a current pipeline register to track upcoming and current submissions, with outcomes, recognition and benefits for funding.
Collaborate with key internal stakeholder to identify programs, projects and other needs for funding.
Support the broader business growth strategy through the development of a structure and framework for grants.
Research and identify potential grant and philanthropic funding prospects, escalating key relationships to senior management as needed.
About you
Your reliability, confidentiality, punctuality and a positive, can-do attitude will make you thrive in this position. Attention to detail skills is a must! You produce strong written communication that is well defined and concise and can effectively communicate objectives to team members and clients. Your drive and commitment allow you to maintain a solution-focused approach to relationship building and development of our fundraising and grants operations. You will be highly motivated, energetic, work well with others and a self-starter. Interpersonal communication skills will be pivotal in our decision for this role.
To be successful in this role:
Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, with good attention to detail, often working to tight deadlines.
Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a fundraising or similar position.
Grants experience is essential, including grant submissions and the acquittal process.
Demonstrated commitment to excellent donor stewardship.
Strong people skills and experience building relationships - you’re approachable, a good listener and empathetic.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer literacy and Office 365 skills and an aptitude to learn new systems and platforms.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
You have the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
Passionate about Heritage and are eager to share that passion with others.
