A bit about the role
Join the City of Casey as a Child Safe Compliance Officer and play a vital role in embedding a culture of child safety across our organisation.
In this dynamic role, you’ll support the implementation of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards, conduct audits and risk assessments, and help shape policies and procedures that protect and empower our youngest community members.
You’ll work collaboratively across departments, influence best practices, and ensure compliance through training, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll deliver
- Drive compliance with Victoria’s Child Safe Standards by reviewing and enhancing policies, procedures, and systems across Council.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments of programs, services, and facilities to identify gaps and implement improvements that prioritise child safety.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed a culture of child safety and wellbeing through training, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review recruitment and onboarding practices to ensure child safety is embedded in staff and volunteer engagement processes.
- Support the development and delivery of child safe workshops and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of Council’s child safety practices.
What you’ll bring
- A degree or diploma in community services, social work, education, public health, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience conducting compliance reviews, audits, or policy implementation in a child safety or governance context.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to influencing child safe practices and driving continuous improvement.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check & Psychometric Testing.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
