Peopleworks is seeking a dynamic Administration Assistant to join our supportive team in North Hobart. This is a permanent part-time role, working 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with a competitive hourly rate.
About the Role
This dual-role position combines traditional reception and administrative responsibilities with hands-on support for our team and clients. You’ll be the welcoming face of Peopleworks, managing daily office operations and preparing documentation that supports our clients’ journeys.
Key Responsibilities
• Front office management: handling phone and counter enquiries, and mail processing
• Reception duties: greeting clients, managing calls and emails
• General office tasks: purchasing supplies, maintaining equipment, filing, and archiving
• Scheduling appointments and coordinating team calendars
• Document preparation and correspondence
• Supporting client intake and documentation
• Conducting ad hoc research and reports for business and educational initiatives
• Assisting with event and training session coordination
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional admin or reception role
• Certificate III in Business Administration (highly regarded)
• Essential Criteria:
• Current or ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card with NDIS endorsement
• National Police Certificate that meets Peopleworks requirements
• Full working rights in Australia
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level of empathy, emotional intelligence, and professionalism
• Excellent organisational and time management skills—for yourself and in support of others
• Initiative and creativity in solving problems effectively
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
• Tech-savvy: confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
• Self-motivated, reliable, and a collaborative team player
