The Role

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Yard Manager/Lead Loader Operator to take ownership of operations at our busy Belrose yard. This role combines hands-on machinery work with leadership responsibility for managing stock, customer service, and ensuring a safe and efficient workplace.

As the Yard Manager, you will play a key role in delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers while maintaining strong operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee day-to-day yard operations.

Safely operate loaders and forklifts to load customer and delivery vehicles.

Supervise, train, and lead yard staff to ensure productivity and teamwork.

Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and manage stock rotation.

Liaise with drivers, office staff, and management to ensure smooth delivery scheduling.

Maintain compliance with safety procedures and workplace standards.

Ensure the yard is always safe, clean, and well organised.

Essential Requirements

Current LF Forklift Licence and/or Loader certification.

Proven experience in a yard, logistics, or construction supply environment.

Strong leadership or supervisory background.

Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor, fast-paced setting.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Reliability, responsibility, and customer focus.

Desirable Attributes
