About Us
RaptorTech is redefining how the mining industry with our technology approach. With a platform approach built on RaptorOS, we deliver the world’s first Technology-as-a-Service (TaaS) model for mining systems. Our solutions combine real-time digital twins, autonomous haulage, precision guidance, and functionally safe collision avoidance to unlock productivity, safety, and sustainability at a fraction of the cost of legacy systems.
We are trusted by leading mining companies and are rapidly scaling across Australia and international markets. With a startup foundation and proven engineering capability, we are now expanding our cross-disciplinary engineering team to accelerate deployment of our disruptive automation technology.
The Role
As an Applied Mathematics & Physics Engineer, you will sit at the core of RaptorTech’s innovation engine. Your role is to transform complex mining challenges into elegant, data-driven solutions. You’ll apply mathematical modelling, physics-based simulation, and statistical optimisation to help us design and deploy the next generation of mining technology systems.
This role is ideal for mathematicians, physicists, or quantitative engineers who want to apply their analytical mindset to solving real-world efficiency, safety and automation problems with immediate impact on productivity, safety, and sustainability in mining.
What You’ll Do
Develop and validate mathematical models of machine dynamics, fleet optimisation, and spatial interactions.
Use physics-based simulation and control theory to improve guidance, dispatch, and collision avoidance algorithms.
Work with cross-functional teams in robotics, control systems, vision, and software engineering to embed your models into RaptorOS.
Contribute to digital twin development, simulating mining operations with real-time machine data streams.
Analyse large-scale datasets (GNSS, sensor, fleet telemetry) to extract patterns and drive performance improvements.
Support customer deployments with simulation studies and ROI analysis.
What We’re Looking For
A degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (Mechatronics/Robotics/Control), or a related quantitative field.
Strong background in modelling, statistics, or numerical optimisation.
Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, C++, or MATLAB).
Curiosity for applying theory to practical engineering problems in robotics, autonomy, and mining systems.
Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment.
Desirable:
Exposure to control systems, machine learning, or computational physics.
Experience working with real-world datasets or simulation platforms.
Interest in automation, robotics, or mining technology.
Why Join RaptorTech?
Be part of a cutting edge startup based in Australia
Work on technology that delivers unbeatable ROI for customers and enables up to 20% reductions in emissions.
Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary engineering team solving problems at the frontier of robotics, vision, control, and data science.
Shape the next chapter of an Australian technology success story with global impact.
