About the role

As a Senior Accountant at A J Blake & Co you will play a pivotal role in supporting the practice's diverse portfolio of clients. This full-time position is based in Mount Waverley, VIC , you will be responsible for providing high-quality SMSF, Accounting and Advisory services working closely with our experienced team and contribute to the strategic growth of the practice.

Your responsibilities will include

Provide high level Accounting and SMSF advisory services to our clients

Preparing financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting documents for clients with various entity types, including SMSF, Trusts, Companies and Individuals

Providing strategic business advice and recommendations to help clients achieve their business and personal goals

Liaising with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and resolve issues

Supervising staff when required, enabling a high level of service to our clients

Contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's processes and procedures

Collaborate with the broader team to identify business opportunities and expand our client base

Skills and Experience

8+ years of post-qualification experience in public accounting or professional services environment

Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, with expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, SMSF and business advisory services

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients

Experience using BGL Simple Fund, MYOB and Xero accounting software

experience with tax specialist areas such as Div 7A, CGT and FBT

The ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality work

A commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends

CPA or CA qualification
