A Government Agency based in Sydney is seeking a visionary Chief Actuary to lead the development of internal actuarial capabilities and transition from a fully outsourced model to a hybrid operating model.
This is a rare opportunity to build a team from the ground up, influence strategic direction, and contribute to reform across personal injury and statutory insurance schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a hybrid actuarial services model.
- Establish and lead an internal actuarial team.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on scheme performance and risk.
- Develop actuarial models to support regulatory decision-making.
- Mentor and uplift capability across the organisation.
- Lead reform initiatives in workers' compensation and related schemes.
About You
- Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA).
- Extensive experience in personal injury insurance or statutory schemes.
- Proven track record in building actuarial functions and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
