Disability Support Worker – Become a Positive Influence 🌟

We’re looking for someone to join our team and make a real difference in J’s life – a young man with level 3 Autism. This role is about being a strong, positive presence – a big brother figure who supports J to grow in independence and live a fulfilling life. If you have common sense, sound decision-making, and the confidence to guide without overpowering, we’d love to hear from you.

Location:
Brisbane North (Alderley and Strathpine) - must be available to work in both suburbs

Key Requirements:

Confidence and experience in guiding people towards positive outcomes.

Common sense and the ability to make sound decisions.

A genuine desire to support someone towards independence.

MAYBO training essential

A willingness to learn and grow alongside J.

An understanding of Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support

Key Responsibilities:

Support J with day-to-day living tasks and routines.

Provide guidance through challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive way.

Act as a mentor and role model – a big brother figure to help him build independence.

Encourage and support him in reaching his goals and enjoying life.

What We Offer:

Casual or Part-time position available.

Regular set shifts (20–25 hours per fortnight) with 1–2 sleepover shifts per fortnight.

Additional shifts available during leave periods or sick cover.

Potential for more hours in the new year with additional participants.
