We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Lead to take charge of our finance function during a 12-18 month maternity leave cover. Based in Smithfield, Sydney NSW, this hands-on role offers the opportunity to work closely with our Finance Officer and other key staff to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations, providing valuable financial oversight to support the business.

Main Duties

· Support the General Manager with the financial analysis of the MCG business and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the accounts processes in line with Company policy and procedures.

· Ensure timely collection of monies owing to optimise cash flow and minimise bad debts.

· Manage Job and WIP review to ensure jobs are compliant with agreed margins and all closed jobs meeting company requirements, escalating as required.

· Provide financial analysis to the MCG operational team to assist with business improvement

· Apply financial acumen to maintain strong financial management principals ensuring decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.

· General administrative functions as required

· Responsible for leading and supporting the Finance Officer

Experience and Capability

· Degree qualified in accounting/finance. CA/CPA qualification highly regarded but not essential

· 3-5 years previous experience in accounting role

· Responsible for overseeing financial performance nationally and confident working across multiple regions, both within Australia and internationally.

· Understanding of financial facets of the constructions/repairs process an advantage.

· Previous experience in financial analysis and planning with a working knowledge of financial processes.

· Strong computer literacy with advanced proficiency in MS Excel
