StarX Technology Solution is a growing Australian technology company. We design and build websites, mobile apps, and custom software that help clients grow and run their businesses. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to build reliable services and to strengthen our DevOps practices across delivery and operations.

About The Role

Design and deliver well‑structured, secure, and scalable backend services

Make pragmatic architecture decisions and improve our engineering standards

Collaborate with product and platform engineers to ship dependable features

Improve code quality, testing, observability, and performance

Share knowledge, review code, and help uplift the team

Key Responsibilities (DevOps *must‑have)

To support an automated delivery loop, you will lead and/or implement:

Standardised CI/CD on GitHub for Dev/Stage/Prod with automated deployments

Safe releases (Blue/Green or Canary) with rollback scripts, release SOPs and runbooks

Monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) and centralised logging (ELK/Cloud Logging)

Tech Stack (Tech You'll Be Working With)

Java 21, Spring Boot 3, Spring Cloud, Virtual Threads (Project Loom), Reactor

Micronaut or Quarkus for lightweight microservices where appropriate

Kafka and REST for real‑time and event‑driven communication

OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus for observability

AWS (including EKS) for deployments

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 3-4 years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering scalable solutions

Strong experience building and operating Java services in production

Hands‑on DevOps experience delivering end‑to‑end CI/CD and automation

Experience deploying applications on AWS

Solid understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, and performance

Comfortable with containers and Kubernetes/EKS

Clear communication and collaborative working style
