The Opportunity

This is a pivotal opportunity for a technically astute and transformative Senior Finance Manager to create a best-in-class accounting function. This is not a traditional reporting role; it is a unique chance to lead a significant transformation of the financial engine of the business, building the robust framework required to support sustained growth.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your mission is to elevate the accounting function through process re-engineering, automation, and team development. From incremental enhancement to the month-end process and automating key controls, to rebuilding the fixed asset register and mentoring a talented team, you will be the driving force behind creating a scalable and efficient financial backbone for the company.

What You'll Do

As a key leader within the finance team, your remit is technical, process-oriented, and integral to the company's operational excellence. Your core responsibilities will include:

Take full ownership of the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy, implementing robust processes for capitalisation and depreciation, and partnering with the business on CAPEX tracking.

Enhance the internal control environment, identifying weaknesses and implementing streamlined, best-practice processes across all areas of financial accounting.

Act as a subject matter expert for the accounting function, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Lead and drive a comprehensive month-end accounting and reporting process, driving automation and significantly reducing reporting timelines across multiple entities.
• Mentor, lead, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and accountability.
• Manage the end-to-end consolidated external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensuring the timely delivery of annual financial statements and management reports.
• Play a key role in optimising the use of SAP and other financial systems to drive efficiencies and improve data integrity.
• Assist the Financial Controller with on target cash flow forecasting and cash management

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a technically-grounded and process-driven finance leader who is passionate about building robust systems and developing high-performing teams. You are a detail-oriented problem-solver who can diagnose issues, design effective solutions, and lead change from the ground up.

To be successful in this role, you will likely have:

A CA / CPA qualification, ideally with a foundation in Big 4 or mid-tier audit.

Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, with a demonstrable track record of leading process improvement and transformation initiatives within an accounting function.

Experience within complex, product-driven environments (FMCG, retail, or manufacturing) is highly advantageous.

Hands-on experience with a medium-large ERP system is essential; SAP experience will be highly regarded.

Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with a genuine passion for team development and upskilling.

A hands-on, "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach combined with the ability to see the bigger picture and drive strategic change.
