About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Business Partner to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll lead end-to-end procurement activities across diverse portfolios, partnering with stakeholders to deliver innovative, value-driven supply solutions. You'll bring strong government procurement experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for compliance, continuous improvement, and collaborative outcomes. On a typical day this role will:

  • Develop and manage procurement plans and documentation tailored to stakeholder needs and service objectives.
  • Lead tendering processes, requests for quotes, and panel access while ensuring compliance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
  • Provide expert advice, training, and support to internal teams on procurement procedures, risk management, and best practices.
  • Monitor and update procurement policies and systems to reflect industry standards and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design innovative supply solutions that deliver value for money and support service delivery.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, law, commerce, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a procurement role within a government environment.
  • Proven ability to manage tender and quotation processes from preparation through to administration.
  • Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in contract administration and supplier performance monitoring, with sound risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, deliver training, and engage effectively with stakeholders.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $107,977 to $120,860 depending on skills and experience

Opportunity for performance-based increase available after meeting goals over a 12 month period.
