We are seeking expressions of interest from internal employees for a 6-month contract opportunity as a Work Health Safety Business Partner at Metropolitan Memorial Parks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our Safety Management Framework and partnering with leaders and teams to prioritise safety.

This role will work across our 2 major sites Macquarie Park & Eastern Suburbs as well as 3 of our smaller cemetery sites.

About the Role:

As a Work Health Safety Business Partner, you will provide guidance, support and advice to leaders and staff on day-to-day operational WHS matters and legislative requirements. You will identify and develop proactive strategies to reduce risk, contribute to continuous improvement of safety and collaborate with other WHS Business Partners and leaders to ensure a coordinated approach to WHS risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with leaders to implement and maintain the Safety Management Framework
• Provide proactive advice and responses to WHS enquiries
• Conduct proactive and spot WHS audits identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address non-compliances
• Support the development of a positive WHS culture, encouraging prompt reporting of hazards and incidents
• Investigate injuries/incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Liaise with relevant authorities regarding WHS matters, and support WHS consultation and participation processes

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or an equivalent level of professional experience
• Previous experience in a comparable role
• Experience in interpreting and applying WHS legislation
• Sound consultation, negotiation, and facilitation skills
