The Role
Join the Town as Coordinator Finance and contribute significantly to the integrity and performance of Council’s financial systems. This key role involves leading initiatives to improve financial processes, and producing timely, insightful financial reports in collaboration with the Finance team and external stakeholders. Working alongside the Manager Finance, you will mentor team members, uphold exemplary customer service standards, and ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements. Apply now!
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:
Considerable experience working with a computerised accounting system in local government or business. Technology One experience very highly regarded.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the practical application of accounting principles; statutory accounting requirements pertaining to the Local Government Act and Regulations.
Demonstrated computer literacy to use systems and software including MS Word and Excel to develop reports to management and Council as well as correspondence in an accounting environment.
Interpersonal and communication skills to provide high quality internal and external customer service; work collaboratively with a team; and coach and mentor staff.
Effective time management and organisational skills to manage workflow and the ability to work under pressure.
Analytical skills to assess business requirements in the accounting context and solve associated problems.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, administration or similar. Local Government finance experience would be desirable
Essential:
Current National Police Clearance is essential.
