The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Aboriginal Intensive Family Support Worker at WADJAK NORTHSIDE ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY (ABORIGINAL CORPORATION)' in partnership with MercyCare, located in Mirrabooka/Joondalup, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in providing intensive family support services to the local community.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate intensive family support services to Aboriginal families in the local community
Assess family needs and develop tailored support plans to address identified issues
Provide practical assistance, mentoring and counselling to families to promote positive change
Facilitate access to other relevant services and community resources
Maintain comprehensive client records and contribute to the evaluation of the program
Work collaboratively with other team members and community stakeholders
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the family support services
What we're looking for
Significant experience in the Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services industry, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal families
Demonstrated expertise in providing intensive, holistic family support services
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
Strong problem-solving and case management skills
Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community services or a related field
Cultural competence and a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and community
Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
