Audit Director – Private Practice

We are seeking an experienced and driven Audit Director to join our clients leadership team and play a key role. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior audit professional to oversee high-profile engagements, mentor a talented team, and contribute to the continued growth of our practice.

About the Role

Manage end-to-end external audit engagements across a diverse range of industries

Lead, mentor, and support a small team of auditors with a hands-on approach

Liaise directly with clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships

Prepare reports for senior management and attend Board meetings

Plan and prioritise workloads to meet client deadlines

Identify and address audit risks, recommending effective solutions

Ensure compliance with current accounting and audit regulations and standards

Contribute to the development of audit methodologies and best practices

Support business development activities, including proposals, networking, and presentations

Work closely with the Partner to drive the growth and success of the audit division

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

CA qualification with 10+ years’ post-qualification experience in external audit

Registration (or working towards) as a Company and SMSF Auditor

A proven track record in leading and managing audit engagements within public practice

Experience in Due Diligence, Valuations, or advisory services (desirable)

Strong leadership and team development skills

Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities

Proficiency in CaseWare, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools

Deep knowledge of audit and accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements

A proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
