Are you passionate about showcasing vibrant events and unforgettable destinations? As Council’s Tourism and Events Marketing Officer, you’ll lead the charge in promoting Lake Macquarie’s festivals, cultural experiences, and tourism offerings. This dynamic role is all about crafting compelling marketing campaigns for Visit Lake Macquarie and the city’s major events, building strong partnerships, and elevating the city’s profile as a must-visit tourism destination.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including local tourism operators and regional organisations to deliver high-impact marketing, brand, PR, and digital strategies. From social media and newsletters to award submissions and advertising placements, you’ll be at the heart of it all.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just skilled, but passionate about bringing people together through tourism and events. You’ll have a degree in Marketing or Communications, and a solid track record in delivering creative, results-driven marketing campaigns, particularly in the tourism or events industry.

You’ll be confident using digital tools to reach diverse audiences, from social media and SEO to newsletters, online advertising and content partnerships. Your communication style is clear, engaging, and adaptable, and you know how to build strong relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation. If you’ve had experience preparing strategic marketing plans or award submission, that’s a bonus we’d be excited to explore with you.

Competitive salary from $64,005 per annum for 28-hour week plus 12 per cent superannuation.
