About the role
AME Systems, a leading manufacturer of electrical components, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team in Ararat, Victoria. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory processes to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply of materials and services required for the company's manufacturing operations.
Day-to-Day, you will:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company's production goals
Consolidate the supplier base through negotiating appropriate commercial supplier arrangements and/or strategic partnerships
Provide leadership, support and delivery of end-to-end procurement process including stakeholder engagement, strategy development, baseline validation tender management, supplier negotiations, contract finalisation and stakeholder interactions during and after the sourcing process
Monitor and analyse procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Collaborate with other departments, such as production and finance, to align procurement activities with overall business objectives
Maintain accurate inventory records and implement inventory control measures to minimise waste and optimise storage
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best procurement practices
Exceed cost saving targets through the effective identification of opportunities, construction of a savings plan and the successful execution of strategic procurement initiatives
Provide regular leadership, mentoring and coaching to all team members and promote and implement effective people management practices
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address supply chain challenges
Proficient in the use of procurement and inventory management software
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree required in supply chain management, logistics, or a related business field
