About the position (temporary up to 12 months with the possibility of ongoing employment)
The Wellbeing & Safety Coordinator supports the Manager Wellbeing & Safety in coordinating work health and safety incidents, managing recovery at work programs, and ensuring the wellbeing of Parliamentary staff. The position holder will oversee First Aid arrangements, assist with reporting and analysis, and provide secretariat support for the Work Health and Safety Committee. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities and driving cultural change within the workplace.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

About you:
You’re a motivated professional with contemporary knowledge of work health and safety and experience in recovery at work or case management. You thrive in a role where confidentiality, sound judgment, and discretion are essential, and you’re confident in providing impartial and well-considered advice. With strong computer literacy and the ability to navigate WHS management systems, you’re comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
Relevant qualifications or experience in WHS, along with (or the ability to gain) accreditation as a Recovery at Work point, will set you up for success. You’re proactive, detail-focused, and committed to supporting the delivery of high-quality wellbeing and safety programs within a unique parliamentary environment
