About the role

We are seeking a bright, energetic trainee pharmacy assistant to join our small and customer-focused team across our pharmacies located at Broadmeadow Medical Centre and the University of Newcastle in Callaghan.

Key accountabilities

You will be working alongside the Pharmacist-In-Charge and Pharmacy Assistant and will be responsible for tasks including:

providing excellent customer service;

providing health care solutions;

counselling customers about over the counter sales;

replenishing and storing stock;

maintaining shop appearance; and

delivering medications to patients.

Desirable

Prior experience in community pharmacy shall be well regarded, but is not essential.

Hold a valid driver's licence, with access to a reliable car.

The successful candidate will be given on the job training supported by formal training.

This role is suitable for recent high school graduates (Year 11/12) and entry level candidates seeking a career in pharmacy.

Broadmeadow Medical Centre is an integrated health and wellness centre with dedicated parking on site and easy access via public transport. We work closely with other health professionals on site including GPs, Pathology, Physio, Podiatrist and Women's Health, to provide a holistic health care experience for our patients. We are open to the public every day, including Christmas Day, until late.

Callaghan is a vibrant and exciting centre with dedicated parking on site and excellent public transport access (bus and train). The pharmacy is located amongst cafes, restaurants, post office, bakery and more. Onsite facilities at your disposal include day care centres, gym/pool plus bike storage and change facilities. We work closely with the onsite health professionals including physios, GPs, nurses, psychologists and speech pathologists leading to a dynamic work environment.
