About the Role
As a Collections Acquisitions Officer, you’ll contribute to high-quality customer service by managing the acquisition and renewal of library collections. This includes overseeing ordering, invoice processing, and quality control, while liaising with suppliers, authors, and small publishers. You’ll also be responsible for delivering key services such as the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) program and the Library’s Book Club
Key Responsibilities
Manage the acquisition of library collections, including ordering, invoice processing and quality management, liaising with suppliers and the Library Collection Services team to ensure the annual renewal of collections is timely, relevant and meets the Library’s Supplier Specifications.
Support and manage requests for inclusion in the Library’s collection by authors and small publishers.
Manage the Library’s Book Club service including, Book Club processes and Book Club collection maintenance and renewal, liaising with suppliers, Book Club customers and Branch Libraries as required.
Work collaboratively with Branch Library and Specialist teams to promote and develop community relevant collections and services, effective collection management processes and seamless collection access.
About you
You will hold a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services or bring equivalent relevant experience.
You will demonstrate experience in a library or customer service environment, with strong business acumen and the ability to apply relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
You will have excellent time management and organisational skills, enabling you to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
