About the Role
As the Billings & Collections Officer, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate billing, claims processing, and collections services. Your knowledge of private health fund contracts, hospital systems, and medical billing practices will help ensure efficient financial operations and exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process billing and claims in accordance with health fund contracts
- Verify patient eligibility and levels of cover
- Manage accounts receivable and collections across multiple sites
- Reconcile patient accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with patients, health funds, and internal teams to resolve queries
- Assist with financial reporting and end-of-month processes
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintain high standards of documentation
About You We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated professional who brings:
- A proven track record within hospital billing or medical finance environment
- Strong knowledge of health fund contracts, billing processes, and patient eligibility
- Experience with hospital systems and medical terminology
- Accounts receivable and reconciliation experience
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard MS Office applications
