We are partnering with a long-established and respected manufacturing business in Warrnambool to appoint a capable and confident HR Business Partner. This is a unique opportunity to join a stable and committed leadership team and play a key role in supporting a workforce of approximately 130 employees, primarily blue-collar, with a small white-collar component.
This is a part-time position with flexibility in how the role is structured:
- Option 1: 5 days per week with reduced daily hours
- Option 2: 3 full-time days per week
We are open to discussing the arrangement that best suits your availability and the needs of the site.
About the Role Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the HR Business Partner will be responsible for delivering both strategic and operational HR support across the site. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong presence on-site, the ability to build trust quickly, and the confidence to coach and influence at all levels.
You will work closely providing guidance and coaching to support leadership development and cultural alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HR matters on site
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with union representatives
- Ensure compliance with two existing Enterprise Agreements (Production and Maintenance)
- Support EA negotiations and provide advice on industrial matters
- Provide coaching and support to the Site Leader and frontline managers
- Promote leadership capability and succession planning
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Manage performance management, disciplinary processes, and grievance resolution
- Maintain HR records, reporting, and ensure compliance with Fair Work and company policies
- Identify training and development needs across the site
- Support workforce planning and organisational change initiatives
- Drive employee engagement and retention strategies

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a unionised or blue-collar environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and EA frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to influence and build trust
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the confidence to work autonomously
- A discreet and approachable style, with a genuine interest in supporting people and culture
