About the Role:
Ageing Australia’s Consultancy Service provides tailored support and advice to aged care providers, empowering them to deliver high quality care to older Australians. As a consultant you will leverage your industry expertise to deliver solutions-based support and manage deliverables in line with the agreed project scope. This is a part-time position, providing a great work-life balance opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
As a consultant, you will be responsible for delivering the following key outcomes:
- This position is responsible and accountable for delivering the following key outcomes:
- Deliver high quality consultancy services including, but not limited to advice, systems review and development, compliance assistance, coaching/mentoring and training.
- Maintain knowledge and skills to ensure services delivered are in line with contemporary best practice, reflective of sector trends and challenges and valued by providers.
- Engage with potential clients to determine the most appropriate support and developing proposals.
- Manage project activity to ensure deliverables and outcomes are met in line with the approved proposal including coordinating partners’ activities where applicable.
- Prepare, and if required, present comprehensive reports on project findings and recommendations.
- Maintain appropriate records of project activities and outcomes.
- Proactively promote the service and source consultancy opportunities.
- Behave consistent with our core values when interacting with staff, Members and stakeholders.
- Comply with all Ageing Australia’s work health & safety policies and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
To be successful you will have:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Allied Health or related field.
- Management or consultant/advisor experience in aged and community care in the last five years.
- Knowledge of the key issues relating to best practice in home and community care.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, facilitation, training and consultancy skills with ability to influence change, particularly as an external agent.
- Excellent oral and written communication with capacity to engage with a wide audience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with limited supervision, work in a team environment and be responsive to changing work requirements.
- Strong work ethic and work history that would evidence commitment to Ageing Australia values and a genuine passion for aged care.
- Minimum intermediate level in the Microsoft suite.
- Awareness of and compliance with WHS requirements
- Desired:
- Knowledge of the key issues relating to best practice in residential care, disability and/or retirement living and seniors housing.
- Knowledge of Community software systems and their applications
