Our Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join Cafs as the Team Leader Home Based Care. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of practitioners delivering high-quality, safe, and nurturing foster, kinship, and permanent care placements for children and young people who cannot live with their birth families. You will play a key role in embedding TBRI as our preferred model of care, supporting carer recruitment and development, and ensuring strong practice oversight and compliance. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families across our community.

About You

You are a confident and compassionate leader with a strong background in child and family services. You bring experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams and a deep understanding of Out of Home Care, including foster, kinship, and permanent care. You are committed to trauma-informed practice and have a passion for embedding therapeutic models like TBRI. With advanced capabilities in people management, strategic thinking, and compliance oversight, you are ready to lead with purpose and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, young people, and carers.

Skills & Attributes

• Minimum Bachelor-level qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or a related field, with formal training in professional supervision/reflective practice.
• Deep understanding of Out of Home Care, trauma-informed approaches, and therapeutic models such as TBRI.
• Proven ability to lead, support, and develop a multidisciplinary team in a complex and high-demand environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with carers, colleagues, and stakeholders, and communicate with clarity and influence.

We provide over 50 programs across a range of service areas providing care for clients within communities across the central highland region.
