District Council of Mount Remarkable is home to some of the world’s most diverse geographical land with a unique natural coastline on one boundary, and some of the world’s most productive agricultural land on the other. Central to the location is the Remarkable Southern Flinders, a distinctive and growth tourism destination.
The area of the District Council of Mount Remarkable is located approximately 250 kilometres from Adelaide, is 3,413 sq. kilometres in area with a population of approximately 2,900. The major townships within the district are Booleroo Centre, Melrose, Port Germein, Weeroona Island, Wilmington and Wirrabara, with agriculture and mixed farming being the predominant industries across the district.
Reporting to the CEO, this exciting role will provide high level leadership and strategic direction to the Infrastructure Services Teams. Key responsibilities will include:
Leading best practice in project management and the delivery of asset and infrastructure management and maintenance services across the Council.
Delivering the essential local government services for the community, making it easier to conduct business in the Council area, and providing a safe and attractive environment for all.
Overseeing the delivery of effective whole of life planning and management of Council’s infrastructure assets, and to seek partnerships with government bodies.
Implementing Council’s strategic plans, stimulating the local economy and supporting existing community needs and future growth.
Delivering high-quality regulatory services in accordance with contractors and community expectations.
Ensuring all services are within budget and in compliance with all relevant statutory obligations and Council policies and procedures.
Positively and consistently model the Council’s Vision, Mission and values in all aspects of work life, and support behaviours which comply with these values.
You are an existing or aspiring General Manager, with a proven track record of success in a similar role and/or setting, and are seeking to make a difference in a diverse community offering a quality country lifestyle.
