The Aboriginal Lands Trust (ALT) is a Statutory Authority under the South Australian Government and is the peak Aboriginal Land holding body in South Australia.

About the Opportunity:

The ALT is seeking a qualified and experienced Business Manager to lead the finance team and drive the strategic and operational finance, compliance and reporting of one of the most diverse Statutory Authorities in South Australia.

The Business Manager plays a critical leadership role in providing comprehensive business support services across the ALT. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality operational and strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Leadership Team, and ALT Board, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organisation.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Business Manager will:

• Prepare, present, and oversee accurate and timely financial reports to support strategic decision-making by the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board

• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring transparent processes and timely follow-up of recommendations

• Champion and implement strong risk management practices across all business functions to safeguard ALT operations and assets

This role is also responsible for leadership of contract management and procurement functions. The Business Manager works closely with the Chief Executive and Board to ensure obligations are met and robust performance reporting is in place.

A current National Police Clearance is a requirement for this role.

We want to hear from you if you have:

Experience in and a strong understanding of financial and business operations, ideally in a government setting.

Experience in leading a finance team and providing oversight to day-to-day functions.

Demonstrated ability to analyse financial issues and systems, problem solve and lead improvements.

Experience in financial performance and corporate reporting, including collecting, analysing, reporting and presenting data.

Appropriate tertiary qualification/s in Business, Commerce, Finance or related discipline

Knowledge of compliance standards set by the South Australian Government (desirable).
