About the role

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our clients dynamic team based in Geelong West, Victoria Australia. This full-time position will be responsible for providing strategic financial insights and oversight to support the company's growth objectives in the Construction and Steel Fabrication Industries.
What you'll be doing

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and regularly monitor and report on budget performance
• Provide recommendations on cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business decision-making
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
• Mentor and develop more junior members of the finance team

What we're looking for

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a recognised accounting qualification
• Minimum 2-4 years' experience in public practice or finance (CA or CPA in progress is ideal)
• Strong technical accounting skills, with expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
• Proficient in the use of financial software (Xero/ERP) and Excel
• Someone who is detail orientated but also ready to roll their sleeves up and learn
