Brother Bon is a 100% vegan restaurant committed to delivering culinary excellence to veg curious restaurant goers in a friendly and approachable dining experience. Located in one of the best suburbs Melbourne, Northcote. We offer an extensive pan-Asian modern menu rich in vegan dishes taking inspiration from many diverse parts of the world.

We are seeking 2 skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team who can help manage day-to-day operations of our large kitchen. The ideal candidate has experience with plant-based cuisine, Asian cuisine and handling dietary needs. Has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and developing staff, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. Additionally, the ability to maintain high performance under pressure is essential.

Key Duties:

Develop and execute creative Asian plant-based dishes

Assist Head Chef with managerial tasks in the kitchen

Ensure food quality and freshness and consistency.

Ability to prepare regular menu items, special and allergen requests

Supervise, train and support kitchen staff and coordinate food order.

Maintain health and safety regulations.

Manage inventory and kitchen operations.

Assist in stock management, including monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies.

Applicant must have/be:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (required)

Previous experience as a Sous Chef

Experience in Vietnamese/Asian cuisine or Vegan cuisine will be highly regarded

Minimum 2 years experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment

Willingness to work evenings, weekends as required

Unlimited working rights in Australia

Knowledge of modified diets

Must work well in a team environment
