About the Role:
Ignite your creativity and make an impact at Curtin University as a Marketing & Communications Consultant. In this exciting role, you’ll help shape the future of Curtin’s Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Trailblazer portfolios, driving bold, innovative marketing and communication strategies that amplify their reputation and reach.
You’ll collaborate with passionate staff, students, alumni, industry partners, and investors to deliver high-impact, creative campaigns and tell the stories of our students, researchers across digital, print, and paid media channels. Working hand in hand with the University’s central Brand and Marketing team, you’ll ensure initiatives are strategically aligned and executed to perfection.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and deliver integrated marketing plans and campaigns across relevant channels, that build the profile and reputation of Curtin’s Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Trailblazer initiatives.
- Researching, writing and amplifying the stories of our students, researchers and alumni.
- Manage digital marketing activities, including paid search, paid social, and content strategy, to drive engagement and participation in programs and events.
- Track and evaluate campaign performance to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the University’s Brand, Marketing and Media teams to ensure initiatives align with Curtin’s overarching strategy.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including media contacts, to enhance reach and visibility.
- Supporting the planning, promotion, and delivery of Curtin Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Trailblazer events.
We are looking for:
- Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification and marketing experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and to provide a client focused service to staff and stakeholders.
- Well-developed verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and contribute to team goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector (desired).
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role

The Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation & Trailblazer portfolio
This role will support these three, closely aligned areas, within the Research Office at Curtin.
The Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation team works directly with students, researchers, alumni, investors, and industry partners to inspire, start and scale entrepreneurial pursuits. Curtin has a successful track record in startup and scale up of technology-based businesses. For 14+ years, it has provided training, expertise, infrastructure and direct seed investment to such businesses. The team continues to build and develop a culture of entrepreneurship, delivering entrepreneurship and commercialisation training, stimulating business startup and facilitating scale up of ventures.
Launched in 2022, the Curtin led Resources Technology and Critical Minerals (RTCM) Trailblazer is a multi-million-dollar federally funded program designed to accelerate innovation and commercialisation outcomes in the resources sector. Thisprogram is building new research capabilities and transforming the way industry and universities work together.
