Permanent part-time (22.5 hours per week)
Salary: $69,478 - $84,026 per annum (pro rata) + 12% super

The City of Fremantle are seeking a Swimming Pool Barrier Inspector to join our proactive Compliance Team. If you're passionate about swimming pool safety and ready for a new challenge, this is an excellent opportunity to take the lead in a role that values professionalism, independence, and results.
You will work under the supervision of the Senior Compliance Officer and be expected to apply sound judgement in practical situations. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will directly contribute to reducing risk and improving swimming pool barrier compliance throughout the City.

Key responsibilities include:
Implement, manage and maintain the City’s swimming pool barrier inspection program.
Inspect private swimming pool barriers to assess compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
Maintain relevant records and statistics pertaining to swimming pool barrier inspections.
Follow up on swimming pool barrier noncompliance in accordance with the City’s compliance policy.
Assist with the preparation of statutory notices, infringement notices and prosecution information in relation to noncompliant swimming pool barriers.
Provide advice and information on matters that pertain to swimming pool barrier safety.
Undertake educational and marketing initiatives with respect to swimming pool barrier safety.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards pertaining to private swimming pool barrier compliance namely the Building Act 2011, Building Regulations 2012, National Construction Code and Australian Standard 1926.1 / 2.
Demonstrated experience in report writing and preparation of documentation.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Strong sense of autonomy and ability to work unsupervised.
Well-developed computer skills – Microsoft office suite.
Current National Police Clearance and C Class Drivers Licence
Knowledge of Local Government
Previous swimming pool barrier inspection experience is highly regarded.
