About the role
Council is seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to deliver executive-level support to the Director of Operations, playing a key role in the efficient operation of one of Sydney’s most scenic and community-oriented local government areas.
In this pivotal position, you will help ensure the Director’s daily responsibilities are managed smoothly and effectively, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to the community.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide high-level administrative and executive support to the Director Operations and Department Managers as required
- Manage and coordinate the Director’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and events
- Handle incoming communications (calls, emails, and correspondence), prioritising and actioning where required
- Assist with organising Operations Department meetings, workshops, and events
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Director
- Maintain confidential records and files, ensuring compliance with organisational standards
- Undertake special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required by the Director
Required experience & skills:
- Administration qualifications or previous experience in a similar role
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and professionalism
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, showing initiative and flexibility
- Experience working within local government or a similar complex organisation
