The Principal Project Officer, Victim Support Reform Projects is responsible for coordinating and managing the delivery of a number of critical projects in the Victim Support Reform project delivery area. Including engagement with stakeholders relevant to the broader victims' portfolio, partnering with external agencies and engaging with the Government on project issues, to ensure that victim support reforms are responsive to the needs of victims of crime and their families. The role leads and participates in the Victim Support Reform projects to design, deliver and implement reform projects in collaboration with other government agencies and partners.
Key responsibilities
As Principal Project Officer, Victim Support Reform Projects, you will specifically:
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Provide advice to support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of a range of Victim Support Reform projects.
- Undertake robust research and analysis to prepare evidence-based options and ensure an in-depth understanding of the problem and possible solutions.
- Undertake project activities and deliver outcomes by developing and managing elements including project plans and schedules, issues and risk management, governance approaches, communication and consultation plans and records in accordance with the approved project management methodologies.
- Develop and prepare a range of documentation as required including briefing papers, options papers, proposals, progress reports, submissions, and correspondence.
- Establish, support and maintain Victim Support Reform advisory and working groups to inform the development of projects.
- Build, develop and sustain positive relationships with a range of key stakeholders to enable the collaborative delivery of projects and initiatives.
