Woolley Constructions is a Brisbane-based builder specialising in large-scale renovations, extensions, and heritage home restorations. We are seeking a motivated Residential Estimator to join our growing team and contribute to delivering high-quality projects across inner-city Brisbane.

About the Role

As our Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, collaborating with clients and our internal team, and supporting the smooth transition from pre-construction to delivery.

We have identified that our current estimating template and system requires a complete overhaul, and we are looking for someone who can take ownership of rebuilding this system, working directly alongside the Company Director to improve accuracy, efficiency, and integration across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the redevelopment of Woolley Constructions’ estimating systems and templates, working closely with the Company Director to deliver a modern, efficient, and scalable platform

Produce accurate cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services

Interpret and assess project drawings, engineering details, and specifications to identify scope, quantities, and potential risks

Prepare and issue detailed sales quotations, bills of quantities, and purchase orders to support project delivery

Develop and manage sub-trade site packages that streamline onsite operations, incorporating QR code technology to give trades instant access to scopes, drawings, and instructions

Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships through clear communication and effective negotiation, securing competitive pricing and reliable partnerships

Maintain and expand a robust database of cost information, pricing history, and benchmarking to improve accuracy and forecasting

Collaborate with clients during design development to align scope and selections with budget expectations

Ensure seamless handover from pre-construction to site teams by managing estimating software and digital workflows

Continually assess processes to identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and innovations that benefit project outcomes

About You

Proven experience as an Estimator in the residential construction industry

Real-world onsite experience as a Project Manager, Residential Builder, or Carpenter highly regarded

BuildXact experience preferred but not essential (training can be provided)

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and subcontractor trades

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Strong communication and negotiation skills with both clients and subcontractors

A proactive approach, with the ability to improve systems and drive innovation

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
