OH&S Advisor – Crane Industry (Canberra Based)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the Directors, this role will play a key part in maintaining and improving our safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting our field teams in delivering projects safely.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor OH&S policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

Provide safety support and advice to crane operators, riggers, dogmen, and office staff.

Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training.

Investigate incidents, hazards, and near misses, and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with ACT and Federal workplace health and safety legislation.

Assist with SWMS and JSEA development for crane operations and high-risk activities.

About You

Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety.

Previous experience in the construction or crane/lifting industry highly regarded.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage workers at all levels.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Current White Card and driver’s licence required.

Strong IT skills.
