We are looking for a Gun Purchasing Officer!
ABOUT THE ROLE
Maskill Professional Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to support our growing operations across multiple business entities. This role is key to ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, products, and services, while maintaining strong inventory controls and supplier relationships.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in purchasing, excellent inventory management skills, and the ability to work across different departments and businesses to support efficient procurement processes. Some of your key areas of responsibilities will include:
Manage end-to-end purchasing processes across multiple Maskill business units.
Raise, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring alignment with stock levels, lead times, and project schedules.
Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts, stocktakes, and reconciliations.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Liaise with internal teams (e.g., operations, accounts, warehouse) to forecast demand and identify procurement needs.
Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and external regulatory requirements.
Assist with cost analysis and reporting to support budgeting and procurement decisions.
Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve efficiency.
Support onboarding of new suppliers, including compliance documentation and account setup.

You love variety and providing high quality support to a different areas of the business. You have a flexible mindset and are happy to adapt to processes that might be slightly different to what you are familiar with.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The non-negotiables for our new Purchasing Officer-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a Purchasing/Procurement role
Strong understanding of purchasing procedures and documentation
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and coordination skills
A strong team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems (e.g., Fishbowl, MYOB Advanced, or similar)
A professional approach to your work
Personal drive; the desire to learn and develop
Ability to manage multiple priorities across different business units
Things we’d be excited about but aren’t deal-breakers -
Experience in manufacturing, freight or production.
Understanding of freight coordination and Incoterms.
Experience with international purchasing and procurement.

➡️ This role is being offered on a full time basis. You will be required to work on-site from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, however we are open to discussing a different start and finish time with the successful candidate.
