- Starting Salary: $81,739 [pro rata] per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About you
You bring strong experience with laboratory systems, safety protocols, and tools such as Chemwatch, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, reactive environment. Approachable and confident, you build strong relationships with researchers and colleagues while managing competing demands. With attention to detail and a proactive approach, you ensure compliance, maintain accuracy, and support effective laboratory operations and research outcomes.
About the role
Reporting to the CCB Operations Manager, you will provide high-level technical and operational support to the research laboratories within the Centre for Cancer Biology. You will work with stakeholders to ensure safe, effective operations and maintain best practice procedures to support research activities. Your responsibilities include maintaining equipment and asset registers, coordinating maintenance and service requests, and ensuring chemical manifests, storage, and labelling comply with regulations.

To be successful you will need
- Qualification or extensive experience in laboratory operations and facility maintenance
- Experience supporting staff and students in tertiary labs, including equipment and chemical management
- Strong knowledge of WHS compliance, chemical safety, and safe operating procedures
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, provide technical support, and improve lab processes
- Excellent communication, organisational and digital skills, including Microsoft Office and lab databases
