About the role

We are seeking a talented Junior Accountant to join the team at Alston Coaches in Braeside, Victoria. This full-time position will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's financial operations and strategic growth initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Process weekly payroll and BAS preparation

Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions

Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts

Assist with HR data entry and employee onboarding/off boarding

Monitor fuel card usage & credit card reconciliations

Liaise with external suppliers to resolve invoice and payment queries in a timely and professional manner

Contribute to financial reporting, variance analysis, and compliance activities

What we're looking for

1-2 years of experience in a junior accounting or finance role, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry

Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills

Proficiency in using accounting software, MYOB

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Ability to work independently & handle confidential info
