The Role

This Assistant Accountant role will suit candidates happy to roll up their sleeves and support the team at a transactional level, whilst also engaging in the following tasks:

• Month end journals and balance sheet recs
• Bank recs + credit card recs
• Inventory monitoring (including stocktake participation)
• Monitor trade debtors/creditors
• Prepare short term cash forecasts
• Manage statutory obligations (eg Payroll Tax, FBT, PAYG, GST, Super + WorkCover)
• Manage payroll (no EBAs!)
• Manage automated AP system
• Process local and overseas payments, including intercompany payments with different currencies
• Fleet management
• Other tasks as directed by the Financial Controller

About You

Tertiary qualified, you will have attained (or be in the process of attaining) your CA/CPA, and will possess 5+ years experience in an industry accounting role. You will be comfortable working full-time on-site. Exposure to finance in a retail setting is a plus, but not necessary. Other skills sought include:

• High level attention to detail
• Inquisitive nature - not afraid to ask questions
• Previous exposure to the payroll function a must
• Exposure to a larger ERP (eg Pronto, SAP, etc)
• Well polished communication skills (both written + verbal)
• Self-starting with drive and motivation
