Our client is a well-established and reputable food manufacturing company based in Fairfield East. Known for their high standards, strong culture, and commitment to quality, they are currently seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join their close-knit maintenance team on a full-time basis.

About the Role
This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled tradesperson who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll be working alongside a small team of experienced tradespeople and reporting directly to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on production and site equipment.
• Assist with breakdown response to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled plans.
• Perform fitting, assembly, and alignment of mechanical components and systems.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and site procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with equipment upgrades or modifications.
• Maintain accurate service records and contribute to a safe work culture.

Ideal Candidate

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Australia-recognised).
• Previous experience in a similar role within FMCG or food manufacturing (highly desirable).
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability.
• Welding and fabrication skills advantageous.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and a true team player.
• Must be hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
