About the Position
The Property Officer Transactions operates under limited direction and is responsible for the facilitation of a range of property transactions including, the acquisition and disposal of Council land, permanent road openings and closings, granting, acquiring and extinguishing easements and encumbrances, the preparation and management of leases and licenses as well as the management of community land governance and operational requirements.
The Property Officer Transactions is responsible for projects and studies as directed by the Team Leader Property Transactions.
About You
Reporting to the Team Leader Property Transactions, the position of Property Officer Transactions is an integral role within the team, responsible for coordinating and facilitating a variety of property transactions involving Council’s diverse property portfolio. Your key accountabilities will include responsibility for the delivery of functions associated with land acquisitions, disposals, easements, permanent road closures and new road openings, together with documentation associated with community land in accordance with the Local Government Act.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Property experience and comprehensive knowledge of property and public road legislation
- Strong technical knowledge of property tenure agreements and real property dealings
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including confident public speaking
- Proven ability to effectively liaise and negotiate with a range of external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Highly developed problem-solving skills and a reputation for innovative thinking
