About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at Zinc Gifts in Camberwell, VIC. This is a casual role, offering 2-3 days per week, with the possibility of increased hours during the holiday season. As a Sales Assistant, you will be an integral part of our vibrant and dynamic retail environment, providing first-rate customer service and contributing to the overall success of our store.

What you'll be doing

Greeting each customer in a friendly and professional manner

Providing exceptional customer service by recognizing and understanding the customer's needs in order to recommend the most suitable products

Assisting with the display and merchandising of products

Handling cash and card transactions

Gift wrapping

Restocking and maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the store

Actively participating in store activities, promotions and events

Contributing to our positive and collaborative team environment

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is essential, preferably within the Retail/Consumer industry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers

Openness to taking instructions and following through on set tasks in a timely manner

Ability to self-motivate and work effectively, both independently as well as in a group

Strong attention to detail

Flexibility and energy to work 8hr weekdays, as well as some Saturdays.

Availability for additional shifts over the (Oct - Jan) holiday period, and open to fill-in occasionally if needed

A positive, friendly and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn

A passion for providing outstanding service to enhance the overall customer shopping experience
